According to HairDAO’s statistics, approximately 60% of the global population experiences hair loss. However, research in this area is often overlooked and underfunded, frequently categorized as a cosmetic concern rather than a medical condition. Beyond funding limitations, intellectual property (IP) assets like research papers, data, and patents face accessibility challenges within traditional management systems due to complex processes and data security concerns. Consequently, the transition of technology from laboratory to practical application becomes time-consuming and convoluted due to extensive paperwork. Researchers struggle to find partners for commercializing their ideas, while businesses face difficulties identifying promising new technologies for investment. This inefficiency hinders research progress and limits overall development.
HairDAO’s Innovative Solution
HairDAO aims to overcome these challenges by leveraging blockchain technology to create a collaborative community where individuals contribute, share, and benefit from the system. The operational model is structured as follows:
Idea Submission and Evaluation: Researchers present their hair loss solutions on HairDAO’s Discord channel. A scientific council, comprised of medical and biotechnology experts, conducts a preliminary assessment of feasibility and potential.
Community Voting: Promising ideas undergo community voting. HAIR token holders cast Yes/No votes to determine investment allocation.
Funding and Development: Approved projects receive funding from HairDAO’s Treasury in the form of HAIR tokens. These funds support research and development efforts.
IP Tokenization and Commercialization: Intellectual property is tokenized as IP-NFTs for commercialization, ensuring ownership protection. Profits generated from IP-NFTs are reinvested in further research, rewarding contributors and voters.
