Mercedes-Benz Announces Management Board Reshuffle for 2025

Mercedes-Benz revealed a significant reshuffle of its management board on Wednesday, with four new members set to join in 2025. The German automaker announced that current board members Sabine Kohleisen, Renata Jungo Bruengger (responsible for Integrity, Governance and Sustainability), and Hubertus Troska (board member for Greater China) will be departing upon the expiration of their contracts.

The company confirmed that Olaf Schick, currently serving as chief financial officer at automotive parts supplier Continental, will join the Mercedes-Benz management board effective October 1st, 2025. Schick’s extensive financial experience in the automotive industry is expected to contribute significantly to Mercedes-Benz’s future strategies.

In addition to Schick, two internal appointments will further reshape the board. Mathias Geisen, currently Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, and Oliver Thoene, currently head of Product Strategy and Steering, will also assume board positions in 2025. These appointments signal a clear focus on internal talent development and a commitment to leveraging expertise from within the organization.

Current board member Britta Seeger will take on new responsibilities as well. She is slated to replace Sabine Kohleisen as the member for Human Relations and Labour Director, ensuring a smooth transition in this critical area.

This comprehensive restructuring of the management board suggests a strategic shift for Mercedes-Benz as it prepares for the evolving automotive landscape. The incoming members bring a diverse range of expertise, positioning the company for continued innovation and growth in the years to come. The departure of long-standing board members marks the end of an era and paves the way for fresh perspectives and leadership. The changes are anticipated to significantly impact the company’s direction and future endeavors.
