How Viction Works
Viction’s core functionality revolves around a unique consensus mechanism and its groundbreaking Zero-Gas technology.
Consensus Mechanism: Double Validation
Viction employs Proof-of-Stake Voting (PoSV) with double validation. This process enhances security and transparency by requiring two Masternodes to sign off on each block before it’s added to the blockchain. This mitigates risks like 51% attacks and double-spending.
The double validation process unfolds in two stages:
- Block Creation: A Masternode proposes a new block.
- Block Validation: A randomly selected Masternode from the 150 active Masternodes validates the proposed block before adding it to the chain.
Viction Zero Gas: Enabling Cost-Free Transactions
Viction Zero Gas, an evolution of TomoChain’s TomoZ, allows projects to cover user gas fees via a smart contract called VRC25Issuer. Projects deposit VIC tokens into this contract, enabling users to interact with their applications without incurring transaction costs. For example, Baryon Network utilizes this mechanism to offer gas-free transactions to its users.
Masternode Rewards: Incentivizing Network Participation
Viction’s network is maintained by 150 Masternodes operating under the PoSV consensus. Aspiring Masternodes must stake a minimum of 50,000 VIC tokens and be elected by VIC holders. Their responsibilities include maintaining the blockchain, proposing blocks, and validating transactions.
Block rewards are distributed evenly among Masternodes, regardless of their staked amount. Every 900 blocks (an epoch), a checkpoint is created, and Masternodes validate previous blocks and receive rewards. Voters who supported elected Masternodes also receive a share of the rewards. The reward distribution is as follows:
- Infrastructure Rewards: 40% to Masternodes.
- Staking Rewards: 50% to voters and the initial 50,000 VIC staked by Masternodes.
- Foundation Rewards: 10% to a DAO managed by the Masternode Foundation.
This structure ensures Masternode profitability even with minimal transaction fees.
The Viction Ecosystem: A Suite of Tools
Viction boasts a comprehensive ecosystem of tools designed to enhance user experience and developer accessibility.
VIC Scan: Exploring the Blockchain
VIC Scan is a blockchain explorer allowing users to track transactions, monitor balances, and access on-chain data. While user-friendly, it’s still under development, with plans to incorporate more advanced features comparable to Solscan or SnowTrace.
VIC Master: Managing Masternodes
VIC Master provides information on active Masternodes, allowing users to vote for candidates and track their performance and staking ROI, currently around 11%.
VIC Issuer: Token Creation Simplified
VIC Issuer enables users and developers to create VRC25 tokens easily, facilitating the implementation of the Zero-Gas feature.
Viction Wallet: Your Gateway to the Ecosystem
Viction Wallet is a Web3 wallet designed for seamless interaction with the Viction network. Currently available on mobile, it offers a user-friendly interface for managing assets, transacting, and interacting with DApps. The desktop version includes staking and voting functionalities.
VIC Stats: Monitoring Network Health
VIC Stats provides real-time data on gas fees, Masternode performance, and network node count, offering insights into the overall health and infrastructure of the Viction blockchain.
Viction’s Advantages: Key Differentiators
Viction inherits and expands upon the strengths of TomoChain, offering several key advantages:
- EVM Compatibility: Simplifies DApp development for Ethereum developers.
- High Transaction Speed: Processes 2,000 transactions per second with fast block and transaction times.
- Zero Gas Transactions: Enables near-costless interactions for users.
- Fair Masternode Rewards: Ensures sustainable incentives for network participants.
