IHCL Expands Ginger Hotel Brand with New Goa Property

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) continues to expand its Ginger brand with a new hotel in Candolim, Goa. This large-format property boasts convenient access to popular beaches and aims to capitalize on Goa’s growing tourism market.

Goa’s Coastal Charm Attracts New Ginger Hotel

Located within walking distance of Candolim and Moterio beaches, the new Ginger hotel offers 262 keys and a range of amenities for both leisure and business travelers. This strategic placement aligns with IHCL’s growth strategy of establishing large-scale hotels in key tourist destinations. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, highlighted the company’s long-standing presence in Goa, dating back to the opening of Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa in 1974. The Ginger brand itself was re-imagined and launched in Goa in 2018, and has since grown to a portfolio of 100 hotels.

Ginger Candolim: Amenities and Offerings

The Ginger Goa, Candolim features signature brand elements such as the Qmin restaurant and bar. Guests can also enjoy a swimming pool with scenic views and a dedicated children’s play area. With over 4,500 square feet of meeting and banquet space, the hotel is well-equipped to host corporate events and social gatherings.

IHCL’s Recent Expansion in India

This latest addition to the Ginger portfolio follows recent expansions in other Indian markets. Earlier in February, IHCL opened a 45-key Ginger hotel on Jalandhar Beach in Diu. The company also introduced a 125-key Gateway brand hotel in Rishikesh, overlooking the Ganges River. These developments underscore IHCL’s commitment to expanding its presence across various brands and locations within India.

Continued Growth for the Indian Hospitality Sector

IHCL’s continued investment in the Ginger brand reflects the positive growth trajectory of the Indian hospitality sector. By focusing on strategic locations and offering a blend of comfort and convenience, Ginger caters to the evolving needs of modern travelers. The brand’s expansion not only strengthens IHCL’s market position but also contributes to the overall development of the tourism industry in India. The opening of Ginger Candolim reinforces IHCL’s commitment to providing quality accommodation options in popular tourist destinations. This new property is poised to become a preferred choice for travelers seeking a comfortable and convenient stay in Goa.
